GPS

Global Poetry System was a Southbank Centre project to explore and map the poetry of the world. It was based on the idea that poetry is all around us, from gravestones to graffiti, from birthday cards to blogs, in the landscape and in our memories. GPS invited everyone to photograph, video, audio record or write down poetry and to tell the world where it is on a map.

After a number of years of some of the most wonderful poems being sent to Southbank Centre in lots of different formats, we have decided to bring the project to a natural end and work on new and exciting digital and analogue poetry projects. See www.southbankcentre.co.uk/whatson?filter[artform]=1651 for more details.
